Pic #1 Christian talking to our guide Channa.
Pic #2 Crickets fried in salt, pepper and garlic. Neither of us tried, but most of the group did. Some also ate snakes from same seller.
Pic #3 Grocery store picture!
Siem Reap is smaller than Bangkok but very busy and seems to put out more auto exhaust. It is a bit touristy because Angkor Wat and Tonle Sap lake are nearby. Hours of rain over the area made for a muddy day. We are tired but excited for Angkor tomorrow! Also excited because we are blogging from a very comfy bed for a change.
Public displays of affection (even holding hands) are considered inappropriate. It is so difficult to remember not to touch, hug, etc. should have done our research before a Cambodian honeymoon right? Heh heh.
G'night!

That's not good. Can you gaze lovingly into each others eyes? Rub noses?
ReplyDeleteThe crickets look delicious. A little mozzarella and we're good.
Love Dad Nev
amazing how crickets are sheltered in a box and revered in some cultures, but here.....
ReplyDeleteI'll bet they are quite crunchy. At least they are not making that awful sound. You two look very happy and healthy. must be the Thai food. Very hot here for the past two weeks. 90's and above. Grass and flowers are looking like straw. A little rain would be so welcome. Love you, Auntie
ReplyDeleteChristian is a giant. Or Channa is wee...
ReplyDeleteChanna is tiny! She is working as a guide to put her two younger sisters through high school. Only 16% of Cambodians get to high school right now. They usually have to start working to support themselves and their families. Also even if more did go they wouldn't have enough schools to accommodate. Even in elementary school, they are short on schools so kids can only go morning or afternoon.
